Welcome to Beloved

Fr. John Curran is a recently retired Hospice Chaplain.

In that work, he presided over many funerals and memorial services, both religious and secular.

It was always an honor to celebrate the memory of their loved one.  He often facilitated celebrations of life in patient’s home, back yard or other inexpensive venues. People were often more comfortable in these casual settings.  They more easily relaxed and socialized.  Sometimes they toasted the deceased’s life with a drink,  making the event a more joyful celebration.

Serving the Twin Cities with low-cost memorial services.

Upon retirement John decided to continue this practice of providing low-cost alternatives to traditional funeral arrangements.

He is also available to just officiate at your memorial service in the Twin Cities area.

Inclusive + ecumenical

Fr. John is a former Roman Catholic Priest, now serving as a Priest at the Charis Ecumenical Catholic Community.

Charis (care-iss) is the Greek word for grace. It is ecumenical in the sense that all people are welcome to the sacraments regardless of the circumstances of their life.  It is an inclusive, democratic Catholic Church that encourages women and LGBTQ+ members to serve as clergy in the church.

Last Rites

As a former Roman Priest, John has the authority to provide Last Rites to anyone who is in danger of death.

Last Rites is a ritual of healing and the forgiveness of sins when one is near death. It is found in the Bible in the 5th chapter of James. Thus, for a Catholic who is planning a memorial service, they can request Last Rites prior to their death. There is never a cost for Last Rites.
